A decade of Scripting News. On this day, ten years ago, a weblog named Scripting News appeared for the first time … today (April 1st) its in “retro mode”
I have been reading Scripting News and strolling through DaveNet since 2004. Thanks Dave! Even though you have intimated otherwise, I look forward to the next 10 year celebration. And a personal thanks for the OPML Editor, Uncle Skippy, from a happy member of the peanut gallery.
Best Wishes,
Peggy
Since Scripting News is in “retro mode” today, Dave is blogging on twitter for the day.
ZapTXT RSS Filtering and Notification. Currently in Beta.
ZapTXT allows you to define search criteria for your RSS feeds and then notifies you via email, SMS or IM when a new entry contains your search keywords.
An upcoming feature in ZapTXT will allow users to combine several RSS feeds into one OPML file and then define search criteria for that file.
Grazr is an RSS Reader/OPML Browser application that is currently in alpha testing. The site has a Grazr Sandbox demo where you can try it out. Just submit a feed or OPML URL and go. You can also download the javaScript to get Grazr for your own web page.
Tracking Grazr, RSS reader and OPML browser application. Alpha phase.
Hugh over at gapingvoid.com has a new rss symbol for your sidebar. Hee.

Spring cleaning?
Thatedeguy is cleaning his house of feeds, and lists some of the dearly departed and the why of it.
Robert Scoble: Seems to have an obsession with how many emails he receives in any given day. But mostly, his average post holds little to no interest for me.
Dave Winer: What an apt last name Dave has. To give him credit, he created RSS and OPML as we know it today. But if he plans on quitting anyways, why should I read him anymore? I never really liked his style anyways
Stowe Boyd: Most of Stowe’s stuff is original, but is a little too free-spirited hippy for me. And frankly, I’m tired of my feed reader filling up with his incessant obsession with his rank on technorati.
Way too much content on the web today. Weeding through the good, the bad, and the ugly is a huge time drain! Get a weed-and-feed-eater for spring. Hee!
