Wordpress V2.1 Released

Wordpress V2.1 was released a few hours ago. Some busy devs this month. See the V2.07 post for sanity checks.

There is a flurry of releases from Wordpress this month. Wordpress V2.0.7 was recently released.
V2.07 fixes some boo-boos in V2.06. If you had already upgraded to 2.06, you’ve got a couple of choices:
— The V2.0 branch will be supported by Wordpress for a very long time. If you are happy with it, you should upgrade to V2.07 to get latest security updates and bug fixes. I would recommend staying with the V2.0x branch for a while, until there is something in V2.1 that you just cannot live without.
— V2.1 release is due out on Jan 22nd. You may want to wait for that one, if you need to be on the bleeding edge.
A good rule of thumb for open source applications and new releases is to give them a bit of soak time. Say a week or more to let the dust settle. Let the early adopting uber-geeks help to get the kinks out. If you love living on the edge, then go for it!
Wordpress v2.0.6

The Wordpress v2.0.6 release is available for download.
Update: you should not upgrade to this release!. Get more info on V2.07, and V2.1.
Mark on Wordpress has information on the fixes, etc in this release.
And, it looks like the WP v2.0.7 may be released soon.
And, V2.1 may be released soon as well. Whew!
